1. Condition: worm with small load and small section
Requirements: 45 tempered, HB220-250
2. Conditions: There are precision requirements (thread grinding) and the speed is less than 2m/s.
Requirements: 45 Quenched, Tempered, HRC45-50
3. Conditions: Small and medium-sized worms with high sliding speed and light load
Requirements: 15 Carburized, Quenched, Low Temperature Tempered, HRC56-62
4. Condition: sliding speed > 2m/s
(_7-8m/s); worms with high precision requirements and a surface roughness of 0.4, such as the main worms in vertical lathes
Requirements: 20Cr 20Mn2B 900-950℃ carburizing, 800-820℃ oil quenching, 180-200℃ low temperature tempering, HRC56-62
5. Conditions: worms requiring high wear resistance, high precision and large size
Requirements: 18CrMnTi, 20SiMnVB treated as above, HRC56-62
6. Conditions: worms requiring sufficient wear resistance and hardness
Requirements: 40Cr, 42SiMn, 45MnB oil quenched, tempered, HRC5-50
7. Condition: worm with medium load, requiring high precision and used in conjunction with bronze worm gear (thread after heat treatment)
Requirements: 35CrMo quenched and tempered, HB255-303 (850-870℃ oil quenched, 600-650 tempered)
8. Condition: worm with high hardness and small deformation
Requirements: 38CrMoAlA, 38CrAlA normalized or quenched and tempered nitrogen, hardness HV>850
9. Condition: car steering worm
Requirements: 35Cr cyanidation at 815℃, tempering at 200℃, depth of infiltration layer 0.35-0.40mm, surface filing force hardness, core hardness <HRC35

1. Turbine material and heat treatment:
(1) Important transmission with peripheral speed ≥3m/s; tin phosphor bronze QSn10-1, QSn-10
(2) Circumferential speed≤4m/s Al9-4
(3) The peripheral speed is less than or equal to 2m/s, and the efficiency requirements are not high: cast iron is generally subjected to aging treatment to prevent the deformation of the worm gear
2. Worm material and heat treatment:
(1) High speed and heavy load: 15, 20Cr carburizing and quenching, HRC56-62; 40, 45, 40Cr quenching, HRC45- 50
(2) Less important or low load; 40 45 tempering
